The Charger 198 thread got me thinking. How many champ guys would have their boat destroyed in order to make a mold for the boat to exist again?

I heard its a fast turn around, only two weeks!.....
I would gladly, for a new rig in return.
Give me a new 198 or 210, and I'll donate my 203. As much as I love my boat, in a heartbeat!
There's no need to destroy a hull to make a splash. It's pretty simple.
Soak the hull down in silicone mold release.
Spray gelcoat over the silicone.
Build up fiberglass support around it, pop it off the hull and you've got an exact duplicate mold.

You didn't mention that they are giving the person a new 198 for his that is between 11 & 14 years old. That could be a pretty good trade ...
Even if you separate the parts to make molds you could 'probably' do it without ruining them. But that said, that is not what you asked...
Heck yeah!
They can have my 176 and i will take a 198 for it...lol

Hell yeah, I would!
What about taking my 18yr old 202... not sure i would give her up
I asked the guys on the Charger page what was going to happen to the orginal hulls they were splashing off of. The mod for the page said they are being trashed that after removing everything it wasn't worth putting back together. I've never completely stripped a boat of all it's trim and fittings but, I would think it wouldn't be hard for a boat manufacturer to put it back together. Seemed like a waste of a good hull to me.
You can bet they don't get destroyed. They might give it away to a favorite employee or something but not shredded.

Doubt they would/could make a comparable model to mine. 202 Bass & Bay, Safe-floor, gorilla hull, removable consoles, live well and bait well plus some most excellent memories. I’ll keep her but thanks anyway ...
That boat is just WAY too functional for today's market.

If they did, that is sad.....but oh well...at least they do have molds to build 198 and 210. Hopefully, they will not need to destroy other models in order to splash the hulls. We shall see. Meanwhile, we do have 2 Champion hulls.....
If that was the only way to get a ChampioN back on the water . . . well I guess I'd do it but it wouldn't make me happy.
But I don't see any manufactures calling for a 202 so I guess I'm safe.
