Russell marine outboard cover

I purchased a outboard cover for my pro 225xs fits great looks great helps protect from trailing rocks etc.. I use 303 protection UV on the cover but the cover fadded after 3 months of use. Anything that i can put on it to stop fadding? At this rate it would be all fadded by end of summer. Like i said great cover fit etc , but having to replace 159. 00 every year do to fadding kinda rediculouse. Your thoughts

I have one on my ProXS 250 from Russell marine and also coat it with 303 protectant. Mine looks brand new and its over a year old. Now my cover is not always in the sun so it may not be a fair comparison. I have applied the 303 more than once. I noticed yesterday during the rain that water still beaded on the cover.

Having said all of that, we all know that black absorbs more radiant energy from the sun than any other color, so it may just be the nature of the beast if kept in direct sunlight.

Well when this cover fades out or falls apart will try tuffskinz cover. Russell cover works great but, think they can use a sunbrella type material to help stop fading for the 159.00 price tag

For those that don't know there is 303 Aerospace protectant for vinyl and rubber surfaces and also a 303 protectant for fabrics which is what you need.

Yup got it useded it still faded. Probly slowed down fadding process cause i use all 303 products on my boat. My summer cover is black sunbrella material and looks great no fading.

A little tip regarding his covers....acetone and a little elbow grease will cleanly remove those RMP decals on the front and rear.

I purchased the Russle covers for my power poles, they seemed to fade almost overnight so I was a disappointed.
on my new boat I purchased the PP version and guess what, the same fading resulted?

My PP covers look great had them on had on 9 months motor cover 3 months

Anything that sits in the sun will fade over time......I cant compare mine cause it stays in the shop unless being used.
