New to me 899..cant get mapping to show?

    Hi all

Bought a new to me boat along with it came hummingbird electronics(had lowrance for years)..

Have a 899 at console and having trouble getting mapping to show up on unit

I was told and thought I read correct me if Iam wrong..that the same navionics chip I used for my lowrance would work on the hummingbird units? I notice all day it says "loading maps" or something to that degree..sorry only got to spend about 5 hours total so far in boat

Also have 700 series unit at trolling motor which has same issue as well as cant seem to figureout how to do a time overlay(show time of day) on screen?

Also 2d sonar holds bottom only in manual but shows digital reading about 50' deeper than boat is in?

Any help is appreciated..thanks in advance!

Are you one the water while testing .... you won't get mapping views unless you have a GPS signal and your GPS shows connected.

If you have a Navionics card that is at least 2005 or newer, it will work in your Humminbird units.
