    Hot foot safety hook???

    I have An older hot food with no safety hook do they make one you can add to it?

    Does it have the threaded hole towards the back on the right side? If not, do you have the ability to drill and tap one?

    no such thing on my 1989 hot foot, and how can it be a safty thing?? I sure don't want any thing holding down a gas pedal.. WOT and what ever happens and it still flying WOT?? No thanks!

    If and when you are ejected your foot should catch it and pull the throttle back to idle.

    Or if your throttle sticks you can use it to pull it back.

    Exactly. It does not hold the pedal down but just the opposite. The spring will put it back in the event of ejection (kill switch a surly better option) but if that throttle sticks at all let alone WOT, you'll be happy that toe clip is there to get you back to idle.

    Same thing if the spring breaks. You'll be glad that the toe clip is there.

    They've been on roundy-round race cars for decades. I have one on my hotfoot. If you add one make sure it's foolproof and won't make it stick.

    I have had the spring break on me too. No indication it was going to fail when it did.

    Wait till the cable comes loose from the hot foot.
    Even the toe clip can't help you then..
    Ever since it happened to me I put a return spring on the motor !!!!!!!

    Should already have one. Make sure it's stainless.
