50 here in WV but we also pay property taxes on cars. Which you have to show that you paid before you can get tags. Is that part of that property taxes? If not that sucks.

Not too bad compared to other fees that states change, remember they all have to get their money someway. My boat, 17 Tundra, and 98 Tahoe was $480 this year. That covers fire firemans pension, police pension, school district, city works, etc.
Ga. now requires paying taxes upon purchase then 21.00 a year.

Registration with a customized plate is about 75 bucks but i pay about 600 per year in property taxes
