    Ultrex loud and grinding sound

Went out this morning and the Ultrex seemed extremely loud and grinding. Pulled the prop and found a birdsnest of line. Removed all of it but the noise and grinding is still present. What should I do next??

Probably ruined the seal and got water in the unit. Unless your handy with working on them you will need to take it in.

Pretty simple in the motor housing. Remove prop and pin. If pin is stuck DO NOT use a hammer or you can bend the shaft. Remove the two long bolts and the whole back plate will come off. Pull out the armature and inspect. Chech the bearing at the front. Check the inside of the housing to see if a magnet fell off or a piece of it cracked off. Order a new seal kit and any parts damaged.

If this is on an Ultrex, and it is still under the 2 year warranty DO NOT open the lower unit. It will void the warranty.
