    Question Stopped up speedo on 250 SHO

    I know I have speed on my Lowrance unit, but I hit a sizeable wood chunk last weekend and my Yamaha digital speed-o now reads 48 mph. With my previous Mercs and Evinrudes, I could work a drill bit in the hole and dig the wood out. This doesn't seem to work with the Yamaha. Any other suggestions? I know, I'm both anal and ADD...

    It should work with the drill bit. Sounds like the chunk you hit was solid. I get a pair of vise grips and work the drill bit in the pitot hole counter clockwise while easily pushing in.

    I've done it with a drill bit. It goes at an upward angle. Just be very careful to not break it off
