    USA Bob’s machine jack plate set up

    I have just installed a new Bob’s hydraulic jack plate on my 2007 BassCat puma with a merc 250 ,2017 pro xs 25 fury 3 any ideas as to height settings on a Bob’s gauge for take off and top end running I was running a detweiler plate totally different style gauge ,any thoughts would be appreciated!

    When I rig a hydraulic plate, I set the plate at half travel. I then mount the motor on the plate so it's prop shaft about 3 1/2" prop to pad. Wherever that ends up, doesn't matter. That gives you the best combination of down for big water and up for shallow, then back to half way or really close for typical running. Anything else makes it complicated.
