Triton push buttons converted to rotary knob's?

So from my understanding the old push button panels can be replaced by rotary knob's with a conversion kit. Just wondering if any that has done this could give me some feedback. Are you glad you changed them over or any downsides? Thanks

I've had pretty good luck I guess so far the boat's a 05 and I've only replaced the live well/bilge side. I just had the master power side go up and wondering about the rotary conversion. Yes very expressive $500 lol.

It's expensive because you are not just paying for switches. It's a wiring harness, breakers, panels, switches. There's a lot involved for a full rotary conversion.

Understandable, did you make the conversion?

No, but have a friend that did.

Cons, cost and install. I helped with the install. It was a lot of wiring, tweaking connectors to make sure everything was snug. Last thing you want is blade connectors coming loose or off in rough water.

Pros, $10 to replace a switch when it goes bad.

I have a 2005 Triton TR21x with the push buttons. Have never had any issues with them.

I consider myself pretty lucky I've replaced the left side but power side is out now. I guess some owner's have had more problems.

C&o marine sells the two replacement panels,it's plug and play, unscrew the old ones from the dash, and plug in the new ones. I don't know what your friend bought, but the ones for $500, is as easy as it gets. Takes maybe 20-30 minutes for complete change over

That's if you don't want to get rid of the control box. Which is fine, until the control box goes bad.

Maybe those older ones didn't have the control module. My friends is a 2012 or 2013. Everything goes through the control module. In order to go from touch to rotary we had to remove the control module. Was a lot of wiring involved.

Are your panels actual soft touch, or push button? I've seen the panel replacements that go from soft touch to rotary, but you still have that control module, that's no longer made and impossible to locate if it goes bad.

I believe that the control box was put in later models. Mine are the oval small push buttons.

I am having the same issue. How did you know that the switch/panel was actually bad. I need to talk to someone before paying $850 for a conversion kit and several hours of rewiring.

One of our customers bought a plug-n-play package from someone online. He says he wishes he'd done it from the start. He can't wire up his new graphs and PP, but he did the rotary thing himself, took 30 minutes at most.

I bit the bullet and have no regrets. 2005 Triton 21XP. Took 15 minutes and not one problem. I switched mine out about three years ago.
