Any Glock Armorers? Need to know what Gen Glock 27

Can anyone on BBC tell me what Generation this Glock 27 is?

    The Serial Prefix is: DFD

I can post a pic but don't believe there are any cosmetic difference on the Gen 2, Gen 2.5, or Gen 3 G27's. The only Gen that is easily identified is the Gen4 as it says Gen4 on the slide.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks but neither help...I am specifically looking for a Glock 27...the G27 never went through all the frame changes and stippling changes like the G17/19...the G27 has always had finger grooves and the two takedown screws...thanks though. The first article only talks about full size models and the second one wont open for me

My Glock reference book shows G27 S/N DFD was imported 07/99. No mention of the Generation.

Gen 2.5 was the original and did not have texture on the finger grooves, Gen 3 has textured finger grooves.

So the older G27's were imported from Austria? is there any benefit from the older imported to the newer ones? or are they all made and imported?

    Thanks Gar!

2.5’s do not have a rail, or stippling between the finger grooves. I used to have a gen 2.5 g27 but cannot find any pics.

The Glock 27 is in all generations. Look on the slide and it will tell you what gen it is. or call GSSF 770-437-4718

The only Glock 27 that shows what gen is the Gen4...no other Glock 27's say Gen 2/Gen 3. Thanks for the phone #! I'll give them a call

Just curious as to what info you looking for.... the G27 started and has remained the same all the way up to the gen 4! The early models have the tennifer finish the gen 4 models have the new finish and stippling around the finger grooves was about the only changes! Their all as good as the next one ive had all 3 versions and it's a glock!!

Just trying to figure out if I'm paying too much for a 2.5 vs a 3. I did speak to Glock and GAR was correct. Imported in 1999 from Austria. I have a Gen4 and really don't like the stippling and I do prefer the older version as the slide finish seems more durable. Thanks guys!

The one I was asking about is the one I am trading for. I already own a Gen4 G27 but hate the stippling and prefer the older slide finish.

So it basically comes down to texture between finger grooves 3rd Gen, no texture 2.5 Gen.

Unless you got small hands, I'd go bigger. I know small is the "in" thing for conceal carry, but I got a 23 I carry in a Fobus paddle holster and it fits snug under a t-shirt. Very hard to spot and very accessible.

Got it finally! Pictures soon to come...

23 is too big for the way I carry. I own a 23 along with a 29sf 10mm but prefer my 27 for carry purposes. I’m also in Ma so for the most part we’re stuck with 10 round mags so there’s no benefit for me to carry the 23 or 29. Easier carry with the same number of rounds per mag.

I prefer the 2.5/3 over the gen4 as I hate the stippling on my current 27. It’s a done deal. I’ll have the new 27 on Sunday. Thanks boys.

So out of curiosity is it a 2.5 or 3? I'm assuming 2.5 from the date range given to you by the SN#.
