Wait until a State Attorney General or the FBI puts a bulls eye on you or your employers back. That’s the sleepless nights me and my wife lived through for about five years. That’s when you come to the realization there is a HUGE difference between what’s right, and what’ll hold up in a court of law.

One of those companies is long gone. The owner will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. One of them is all but gone tho no wrong doing was ever proven. The state legal system essentially bankrupted the company. That owner died, most say the stress of the ordeal killed him. He got up one morning and hit the ground dead before he got to the bathroom. I promise the state has more funds for lawyers than you do. The Attorney General in question had his hand slapped by the state Supreme Court for misbehaving. He was a lame duck and didn’t care.

The second of these two employed 900 people and generated about 50M a year in tax revenues. Today they may employ 100 and have liquidated almost everything. All over one lawsuit that went nowhere. The company has been on the market a while, no one will touch it after the messy litigation. The consulting firm brought in to clean up the mess made it worse.

Glad you came out unscathed and hope you never have to go through it again!!

You mean you have a business but don't have your assets protected? You need a lawyer ASAP.

I know when I was sued it was very comforting, knowing what they wouldn't be able to touch.

I knew when I popped the top on a few last night there was a good reason for those beers to be consumed. I reckon yours was as good as any!

    Congrats

Just feel lucky she wasn't drinking hot coffee at the time, you might have lost that one. Speaking of coffee, I wonder what the woman that sued McDonalds showed for evidence?
Pretty much the entirety of the case is out there. You can see it if you want to. 3rd degree burns from liquids happen in just a few seconds, and probably faster where skin is much thinner. Reading the actual facts of that lawsuit might change your mind, or it might not. Either way, I'm pretty sure the 79 year old woman really wasn't eager to be showing her genitals to the public.

If your 79 then don't drink anything while you careen down the road , McDonalds should have counter sued her .

Again, the facts of the case are out there.

She wasn't the driver. The spill happened in the parking lot. The car was parked.

Believe me when I say I'm not a fan of the lawsuit lottery.

If the offer still stands, I'll take ya up on it after a couple hours of cutting grass this evening (if it doesn't rain again).

Glad that ordeal's in the rearview for ya, Tim.
