    Drinks are on me

For over 4 years I've had a BS lawsuit over my head on a car accident my business partner was in on her own time.
First I believe it was his fault. He was also fine until the cop showed up then just shut up and sat back. Never heard anything for just over 3 years. Which is the statuche of limitations.
2 days after the statuche of limitations ran out the guy filed.
Somehow it was allowed to go through. (Theses people are connected and work for the state. And also own a few business. ) they were going after the maximum allowable by the state. What ever that means. Also a portion of all future earnings. The claim was the medical bills had exceeded 100 grand which was the cap on the per person insurance payout.
We finnaly got a letter from the insurance company stating the case was closed and She is no longer responsible for and future claims.
I suppose the insurance company may have settled.
I'm so glad it's over but I kind of hope they didn't settle for anything.
Anyway sorry for the long read but this is a huge weight lifted off of me.
    Drinks are on me tonight

    Hey Tim
I’d call your agent or carrier and find out exactly why the claim was closed. If they settled and it was for a large amount it could hurt you going forward on your commercial auto insurance. I’m an insurance agent in MA and work quite often in NH as i’m Only 3 miles from the NH border and anytime a claim is closed on a suit like this I always try and get my customers loss runs to them so they can see how much their company decided to pay (or not pay). Most business auto policies will cover up to $1mm in BI/PD per claim plus umbrella policies that can exceed $5mm so there’s potential of a really large settlement. Not sure if it was a commercial auto policy or not but in either case congrats. PM me if you have any questions.

    Thanks Jay.
It was under her private insurance as she wasn't working at the time of the accident.

What did the lawsuit have to do with you if she was on her time and insurance?

    UP yours!!! Congratulations.
Just feel lucky she wasn't drinking hot coffee at the time, you might have lost that one. Speaking of coffee, I wonder what the woman that sued McDonalds showed for evidence?

Pretty much the entirety of the case is out there. You can see it if you want to. 3rd degree burns from liquids happen in just a few seconds, and probably faster where skin is much thinner. Reading the actual facts of that lawsuit might change your mind, or it might not. Either way, I'm pretty sure the 79 year old woman really wasn't eager to be showing her genitals to the public.

If your 79 then don't drink anything while you careen down the road , McDonalds should have counter sued her .

Again, the facts of the case are out there.

She wasn't the driver. The spill happened in the parking lot. The car was parked.

Believe me when I say I'm not a fan of the lawsuit lottery.
