    2000 ox66 yamaha overheat alarm

was out sunday on the potomac heading back to the ramp from the virgina side, lots of debris floating, idled through all that till I got to clear water. got it up to about 4k rpms ran for about 15 seconds and something felt off(something clinging to the front of the lower unit). slowed down to idle, overheat alarm goes off... shut it down, trim it up and see a damn 20+oz cup float up...
I let the engine cool till the alarm wasn't present and cranked it up, ran fine, 20+psi@4k no issues.
is there anything I should check? or am I good to go?
I usually keep an eye on the psi gauge, I was busy looking for logs I guess lol

Only other thing I can think to check is if trash get caught in the poppet. If pressure is fine and no more alarm, you are probably good.
