A Talon is an option you can request, and yes it does require a Jack Plate

Yep - you can them to a AVX1880 also

I ordered the 1980 with the short body talon. I was told the talon top was under the height of the G2 motor, therefore a fold down bracket wasn't necessary. I hope its all true, I have a couple tight clearances to make where I fish.
