    In a Pickle

Looking for advice. I'm in a bit of a pickle with my phoenix721SHO. 6.5 year old boat and motor. Warranty ran out and motor blew. I don't want to drop the money to fix the motor and I can't get a new SHO until next year (per the dealers I talked to). I'm thinking of selling it or trade it as is with the blown SHO but I have no idea what its worth. 2012 721/SHO combo, 10" Atlas Hydraulic Jack Plate, 24 v Ultrex, (2) HDS 12 Gen 2 with BBT mounts. Recently had the bottom of the boat fixed so it's perfect. I really love it but I'm not sure what to do now. Any thoughts on what its worth?

Personally, I'd fix it and keep fishing if you still like the boat the way you have it setup. It's a lot cheaper to rebuild than get an entirely new boat and it seems silly if you just get the same type of boat. Phoenix hasn't had any major changes since even my year model (2010) so you won't be gaining much by getting something newer.

EDIT: I realized you asked solely about value so.... I'd say in the mid 20's without a working motor for your rig.

I'd fix it. Likely a better deal than selling as-is.

Honestly, either way your out the money. Personally I would fix it but I also know how hard that pill is to swallow. Just have to plan on keeping it for a while

Fix it. Give Hydrotech a call and see what they say. It is "free" to fix it. You will get that money back when you do sell compared to selling now with the repair needed. You may even make money by fixing and selling compared to selling it as is. (although there are some people who look for boats to put their motors on...... or to fix and sell)

Depending on rebuild cost this could be a good option, especially for resale. That's if the motors are trouble free

Just curious what something like this would cost to have fixed?

Hydrotech x 2. They do a great job with Yamahas. Maybe spend a little more and have the SHO tuned and that 721 will scream!

Im not a fan of repowering unless you plan on keeping the boat for a long time. You will be money ahead if you fix it.
