I went with Academy's brand of sunwear. Had a spot cut of my shoulder and a spot frozen above my right eye a few weeks ago.

I have the hooded Columbia PFG Omni-Freeze Zero shirt. IMO, the Omni-Freeze Zero is much better than just the Omni-Wick.

For those talking about the neck gaiters being too short and leaving a gap at the shirt, (slide to the second picture)

I have a new HUK gaiter that is made longer at the front and back to cover neck and chest better. The old one was straight cut and would leave a gap. The new one expands easier and is more comfortable also.

Tilley hat, Columbia PFG shirts. Neutrogena makes a sunblock that is "light weight". My wife uses it on her face, she likes it.

I hate the feel and the way I smell wearing those sunblock UPF shirts from Simms or Columbia. I wear these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...TF8&th=1&psc=1 Nothing cooler feeling than a wet cotton shirt IMO. Can easily dunk in the lake or just sweat a little into it. Then I wash them in this:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000Y3F6W/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&cre ativeASIN=B0000Y3F6W&linkCode=as2&tag=upfclothing-20

Which raises the UPF rating and keeps the UVA off my back.

I am just like you with the spots frozen off, I have had the Kemo skin treatments on both arms, head, face and now getting ready to start arms and hands again this fall. I use to take baths in Pre Sun to the point where I hate it. I quite using that crap and have some of the Columbus Performance hoodies, love those because they are cooler in the hot sun. I also wear a full face mask if I am going to be out all day along with gloves with fingers out. I had to do this are quite because of being fair skin,,,,,,,RT

I need to find some pants I believe. I wear sunblock every time out and reapply atleast once during the day. I like the Columbia shirts and the best gaiter I've found is the Simms. It has the holes for breathing and is bigger in the neck area so you don't get that uncovered skin. Oh, and the shirts, Columbia and huk make shirts with collars, those are the best. I use Simms gloves but that's the only ones I've tried.

I'm beginning to fear going to a launch ramp, all those masked men. I'm sure a mugger is looking for my Megabass in the secret color.

Thanks a heck of a lot to all you guys for the suggestions. I'm going to order the Aftco hoodie and the Outdoor Reasearch Sun Runner cap. Already have some gloves to try out. I just wish someone made this stuff in 100% COTTON. I HATE the polyester and nylon cloth, both of which is basically PLASTIC, against my skin! Like BassinB said, nothing is cooler or more comfortable next to the skin than 100% cotton. No way I can wear the 'buffs' on my head. Drives me crazy. It doesn't bother me to lather the Sunscreen on the arms, legs, and feet. But, no way on the face. Please keep the advice coming. Thanks again.

I bought 1 of these in all cotton last year to wrap around my neck in the Winter to keep my neck warm in real cold weather. Guys in deer camp had a real laugh at me trying to figure how the sand-people wrap their head, with just their eyes showing, in these things and keep it on. I never could figure it out.

Although I think they look stupid, I where a Gillz buff as well. It provides a bit more ventilation. Most of my shirts are Columbia PFG and I’ve got a pair of UA fishing pants.

I think I may go to a tilly this year too but not sure. And the gloves are a good investment I have yet to make.

I have found that not all buffs are the same as far as how hot they make you feel. I also agree that I like the feel of cotton shirts better than synthetics - but I really like the Magellan Fishing shirt from Academy. I typically wear a long sleeve Magellan during the summer. I have tried a couple of others but find the Magellan cooler. Not sure why it is based on what the label says.

I have 3 Under Armour fish hunter shirts. Long sleeve, built in neck gaiter and hood. Nice light cool clothing.

i also have some Columbia fishing shirts. they are very nice as well.

I have a couple HUK, but don't care for them, or any clothing that has black material on them in the summer.
