Hello!
I'm going to be in St. Charles near the Fox River this weekend. I am from WV and was wondering if there are any good places to stop and fish close by? Or if anyone was looking for a Co Angler somewhere close by? Any info would be much appreciated!!

The fox has a good pop if Sm,musky and walleye.Below the dams,and current breaks.Go wading !

free fishing is 6/15-6/18. Coincides with Fathers day. No license required.

I did look at USGS and the river is dropping to very fish able levels. It is a going to be a good wet wading weekend, the river will feel nice in the heat we will have this weekend. Old tennis shoes, shorts and a SM rod. Take a look on the web - chitown angler - they have the Fox as a forum page. Not much recent chatter as we have had record rains beginning early May. I would also normally say that the Kankakee River is the premier SM river in N Il about 45 min to the S of where you will be but it is higher than I consider safely wade able. Have fun.
