what material for anode

getting closer to under standing these things...... so i see there aluminum and there's zinc and depending what your setup takes......so on signature boat what would be the suggestion on a trim tab and anode. oh and can i get the bolts anywhere? do they have to be S/S or special to the trim tab and anode?

On the trim tab you use the same bolt that is currently installed. On the square Anode on the lower unit it is simply a block of Zinc and that bolt is a self tapping style you can also reuse that one. The trim tab in not the Mercury style however. Yours has a water passage way machined in it that allows cooling of the prop hub. As I said in your other post there is also an anode on the bottom side of the propeller shaft bearing carrier in the lower unit just so you have one more thing to fret about.
