I was a diehard ChampioN owner “ & have owned 6 , before I bought my 920 ! the last 3 were a 198,206 & 210”, I would have to say that the better ride & handling go to the Champ !, speed ,fish ability & storage go to Phoenix! a Champ “is really forgiving & easy to drive ! a Phoenix , you will have to learn how to really drive a bass boat ,all over again ! but when you get it down ! you will love it !

Does phoenix measure their boats from nose to transom or nose to the end of the sponsons?

It makes a difference. For instance the 19'8" bass cat caracal is measured to the sponsons which makes is more comparable to a 191 or 193 champ. The caracal actually has a shorter front deck than my 187. I think it is the same with the 19'8" birds too.

Point being, the non-sponson boats have "larger" hulls than those with sponsons per listed length. Something to think about if you are used to a champion.

Hey Matt! That sounds like a plan. I'll reach out to you when I see an opening. You fishing any night tournaments out there?

No, I tend to stay away from Conroe May - Sept. But I will happily go for a test run with you when you are ready.

Are you asking if I came out of a 191? I currently run a 198 and a 193 before that.

No, Phnx#22. I seem to recall that he had another screen name at one time but I could be wrong.

The 193 is probably my all time favorite boat to drive. Super fun rig.
