    1040xs compatibility

    Can someone specify for me the compatibility of this unit. I think that I read that it supports chirp sonar and clear vu, but requires the gcv-10 to support side vu. Is this true, or will it support side vu with the addition of the cv52hw-tm?

    You have to have the GCV10 to get side view, this is the setup I run

    I have the 1040xs. It has an 8 pin connector on back. My Gt30 is 12 pin connector so yes I have the black box. I also have the GT 22 and it's a 8 pin and it does 2D and down Vu. The CV transducers are NOT compatable with the 1040xs. I called Garmin to find that out and that is what they said. I love my setup but will change to the newer stuff at the first of the year.
