Just letting my fellow strat owners in on some Prop testing results.
2014 stratos 294 evo
2014 Pro xs 200
6” manual plate
I have a lot of weight in the Boat. I have a fortrex 112 so I have 4 group 31 batteries, along with 2 chargers and by myself I’m 6’5 290. Lots of tackle so it’s heavy, especially for the rear.
I’ve tried a pile of props over the last year or two. Blueprinted props from tempests, fury’s, txps, razor 3s, razor 4 xl, bravo 1 etc.
Up until now a Croxton blueprinted txp has been the fastest and still is. But anyone that’s ran one knows how hard they are to turn and you loose quite a bit of hole shot, especially with 2 people and the live wells full. Takes forever to get out of the hole. Fury 3 runs good light but add weight and it falls flat. A good worked tempest with some cup added is pretty good but holeshot isn’t great loaded and mid range is weak and just feels like mush.
Picked up a fury 4 and it’s far and away the best all around Prop for the Boat. Without any jackplate adjustments it’s 1 mph slower than the txp. The hole shot is almost on par with the bravo 1 and midrange will suck you back in your seat. Crazy amount of over all lift, so easy to drive and running right at 72mph in the heat of the summer loaded. Definitely try one if you can. Mine is a 26 pitch and I’m right around 5600 rpm. Max rpm is 5750 so you MIGHT get away with a 25. Still need to do some jackplate adjustments but overall I’m extremely impressed.
