    Mega SI xducer location

I will be installing a Helix 10 Mega SI G2N at console, with transducer on transom. I am seeking some guidance as to the best location for the Mega ducer, as well as most appropriate aids (Shields and Savers, etc.) to ensure efficient operation. The current Di ducer seen on starboard side has worked out great, but I'm not sure I will be able to trim engine out far enough to allow a good SI reading. Ideally, I would just install a jack plate, but the added cost of steering cable replacement and a new boat cover just aren't happening at this time.

I'm thinking that a transducer exchange to the XPTH 9 20 MSI T may be the best answer. It looks like an ideal fit to my step. I wonder how hard it will be to get it properly level?
