lund 1875 pro v bass rear seat question

The rear seat location seems to be a problem if someone wants to fish off the back. Although there are 2 floor seat plates, you can only raise the motor so far before it hits the seat. Not good. Has anyone tried the offset floor plates and offset seat post? Was wondering if this was a suitable solution? Any other fixes for this??

hmm, i have the 2075 xs which I think shares the same rear deck dimensions and haven't noticed an issue with needing to raise the motor although I do have a small 4" jackplate on mine. I guess that could be the difference here. I still can't envision how it is a problem with the motor at a normal operating height or even when jacked up to traverse shallow water. When is it an issue? when running, fishing, trailering?

The center hole on the rear deck is for a ski/tow pole.
The seat base locations are off to each side of that.
Could you post pictures of the the issue. I have not heard this before (?).

    Thanks in advance

Are you fishing that shallow that you need to trim up the motor all the way?

The 1875 that I recently talked about had a seat base in place of the
tow mount. I didnt ask the owner if he made the switch or if it was done
    in the mfg process. LDS

I'll try and get some pics of the seat/motor clearance this weekend when I go back up to camp.

Not all the way out but enough not to clip any rocks. I guess I'm a little paranoid about the new boat and SS prop! It's a shallow, weedy lake with submerged rocks in places and the lake level fluctuates all the time so the more I can get the motor up the better.

might help you as well when you take those pics with it out of the water. Once you get that skeg above the bottom of the boat, there is no real reason to raise any further.

It depends which type of seat you’re using. If it’s a butt seat it’s really not a problem because you can raise the motor almost all the way up. If it’s a chair type seat then it does limit the height of the motor, it puts the skeg about even with the bottom of the boat. Swiveling of the seat then becomes almost non existent.

I just got 1875 pro v bass a month ago I fish in some really rocky shallow water below the conowingo dam. I have bike seats and raise motor to expose prop and still fish with the bike seat. You should be fine, already got stuck on a rock motor was fine. Minimum damage only lost some paint, on keel. Smh
