I got off my butt and fished Henderson and Little Henderson yesterday. It was windy but I boated 7, my brother boated 4. The fishing was surprisingly good for the weather conditions and my first time on the lake since I was a teenager. There wasn’t much boat traffic, I’m guessing the weather made them stay in. Most fish came on a shallow crank but the swim jig caught a couple and the chatterbait should’ve been used more.
This little guy seems to have been attacked by a gator but he was still eating and fighting so good for him!
I lost many more than I caught, they were short hitting all day, I’d fight them for a few seconds then gone; or was just getting hit, hard, but not taking the bait.
Can’t wait to fish this place a lot more!

This weekend is "Cooter Fest" (turtle cooter and not the anatomy one) Food, carnival rides, etc.

The Cove has awesome Buffalo Wings. The water should be up enough to beach you boat in the canal.

Remember the Cooter (i) Fest is going on so the launch on Little Lake Hendo would be a "headache" at best... Lake Spivey (Eden Rd. ramp) doesn't get much play unless a Tourney is in town...
So listen for some toons (cover band music) and the smell of Cotton Candy and Funnel cake
