    Easy or Hard?

Golf courses-do you enjoy a challenge or a more player friendly course?
my handicap has doubled at a much more difficult course.
most who play it agree that all other local courses seem easy after getting beat up at this one.
it is beautiful and in great shape.
i figure it is like my wife.
i have kept her for 40+ years.

In the land of courses here..I try to play tees that are 61-6300yds regardless of which I play. Lot of roll this time of year and cheapest rates. Shot 88 on a resort course (Wildfire in Phoenix), played 6310 from the Blue/White tees. Played a 520yd par 5 with 4I/4I/SW/Putt for a bird. was a good round.

I am playing 6300-6600 as normal. Occasionally 6700+.
sounds like you have your game in order and play regularly.
    i play weekends if lucky.
    it just seems tougher now.
i ordered new irons and will get them this week. Something else to fire me up I hope.

Just bought TaylorMade P790 which should be here this week. Lighter shaft to try and improve accuracy.
i do enjoy mixing up the tees as the same ones can get boring.

I loved my Mizuno MP 30s.
Went to the 765s which are pretty demanding on a weekend golfer.
taylorMade RSIs the last 4 years which are still good clubs.
I have the Spider putter too and really like it.

shot 85 Sunday with a hangover in heat and humidity after boat issues on Saturday.
had a fun day with wife, breakfast on the club patio by ourselves with a gorgeous view and enjoyed being on the course.
    golf cart worked too

Having fun is all that matters, I will be upgrading the JPX-900 Hot Metals year after next, the lofts are strong (7 is about a 6) so everything is a club long. My 150yd club is a 9I right now.

Wow. Mine is and always has been a 7 for 150.
JPX was in the top 3 when I hit them.
Just like the look of the P790’s and lower shaft weight.
something new every 4 or 5 years is good T these older ages.
    Things change for some reason.

    No ch#t!
i would love to be 34 and focused on golf.
life did not allow me that at that time and I am okay with that.
Now I can’t make the full turn.
golf allows you to adjust to be mentally satisfied with your effort and results-or not.
    simple.
    as it all should be.

Look at the US Open this weekend. Even the "professional golfers " are struggling. That's a tough course.

I tend to play better on a harder course. I think on an easy course I just hit the ball as hard as I can. It doesn't work out. But when I'm a difficult course I think more of management and where I want my shots to end up - a lot more focus.

It really makes you think. Lay up? Or go for it? Hard courses challenge your skills.

Agreed on makes you think shorter and in short grass is better. Played a 3 club tourney with no driver-just my 3 iron, 8 and putter. Played the par five perfectly running my 3 onto the green to 15 feet. Missed the bird but made par. Next time keep the driver and putt with it if I ever do that again.
Bride is sky high with a closest to pin, best drive and 2nd place team finish today. She plays two more tournaments this week then we are off to the lake and Golf at Shangri-La. Life is good.
