I believe you're a little too low on engine height.

Running a 27p Yamaha T1 @5650rpm with 6” slidemaster jackplate. Thank you guys for all of your input.
your way too low go up about and 1" on that jackplate and start there raise 1/4 inch at a time till you gain rpm but speed doesnt increase. once find that point go back down 1/4" and smile.

Thank you guys. I am on vacation the rest of the week but will be back home on the water next Friday. How fast do you think the boat should run once I raise the motor to the proper height?

K&K, you should try a Tempest or a Trophy as they tend to lift better than a Raker which these hulls need for speed. With my 200HO and a 26 Trophy stock I hit 73.1 this spring. Full fuel and tackle, just me.

25 Fury is the ticket on these hulls. I run a 10" Bob's plate and a 250 Pro XS with a 25 Fury 77mph at 6050 rpm. Couple clicks down from full trim and about 3.25" below pad. I have to disagree with the above post about needing lots of lift. I tried a 24 Scorpion that would lift harder than any prop I've ever ran and it lost me speed.

Everyone has their own experience, mine is based off of owning a 2000 since new in April of 2000. First ran a 200HP Ficht Ram and then a 200HO Etec. In the cooler months I run 73MPH with a 26 Tempest at 5900 rpm. Thats with a six in plate. When I had the Ficht motor I never had the right prop to get me good lift and now I do. I'm also not running a motor thats to big for the rating on the boat which is 225HP and a 8'' JP max. My 19 years of experience with this hull and readings from others with this hull confirms that these hulls like to be lifted and they also like to have weight in the back for best control and performance.

With my 26 raker raker I’ve had worked by Mark I’m only getting 61 mph with a 200 HO. I checked to make sure I’m getting WOT. Running 3.75 below pad at about 5500 rpm 18psi.

You are too deep, raise it up 1/2'' and see what happens. Keep an eye on your WP. You should be spinning a prop to max rpm which is 5850 I think although they will spin faster. I've never liked Rakers or Renegades on my boat. The Tempest and Trophy are perfect and they provide much better lift than a Raker. Get you a #200 Michigan Wheel hub kit and try a Merc prop.

Back home so I should have some info for you guys before the end of the week. I appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts. I can’t help but think people can be more efficient with a healthy exchange of ideas. Like I said 74 would be a OK. Most fish I catch aren’t swimming near that fast.

Ok guys sorry for the delay. Changed jobs and been kinda tied up. Put the boat in the Ouachita river today. 3.25 below pad 1/2 tank of gas all my fishing equipment 6” slidemaster 27 pitch T1 prop 500 PCs of dudes in the boat. 5950 rpm 22 water pressure.
71.9 mph. I think that is as good is she will get. Any thoughts? May go to a 10” jack plate. Will that get me anymore speed?

You are pretty much there now with your set up. That speed is great for the hot summer months. Did she want to walk on you? I've found full fuel or livewells will help keep the walking down and not really affect speed.
I don't think a 10'' plate will help and Stratos would not warranty the boat if you went larger than 8''.

I think you’re there on the setup to. 72 is good for summertime. At this point you’re going to start spending $$$ chasing that last 1-2 mph.

26 fury was the best prop by a mile on my 200xl with hpdi. 2.25" below pad running 75-76 at 6k. Tempest didnt have enough lift and the trophy was just flat terrible (67mph and walked like crazy).
