    Z20 will not turn a 25 Fury

My 2018 Z20/250 Pro XS has more than 10 hours on it and it still seems the 25 Fury is to much prop. I can only turn it 5500rpm for 69-70mph. Hole shot is pretty good but I hit a wall around 5500rpm/70mph.

I have not played with jackplate as I wanted to get a few hours on the motor first. I am running a 24v troller and no blades/poles but I do carry to much tackle.

Should I raise the jack plate or try another prop? I know most guys with Z21/250 combos are running the 24 Fury and I would have thought the lighter Z20 could handle the 25 Fury but maybe not.

Check PTP and raise plate. My Z21 spins a 24 fury 3.25 under pad at 6k and 72-73 on gps

You may also want to verify that you are reaching wide open throttle.
I believe there is a "how to" section in the Merc forums.

Not all props are the same, or motors. definitely do as suggested above and confirm WOT. If u can borrow a 24p Fury and see if that helps. I kinda getting an idea on these G2 lower units we just don't get the high slip numbers anymore, combined with the NVT hull I wonder if thr Z20 is just seeing very low slip #s

I'm in the same boat..On both accounts..But I've got power poles and 36v ultrex.24 fury seems to do best on mine. Typically I get about 68-69 and 5800 ish rpms. I've gone up, down and sideways on the jackplate and it seems that it likes to be lower than most with little slip. I can go up and gain rpm but I lose 2-3 mph. I'd like to try a fury 4 to get some more stern lift. I've run a 25 fury and a 25 Tempest as well. Tempest wasn't too bad, 5500 rpm and about the same speed, but the boat handled the rough better. I'd like to try a 4 blade or a 24 Tempest. 3 1/4 ptp seem to be the best of both worlds.

Verify your Tach, you should NOT be running 70mph at 5500rpms
