Thanks for posting. After 60 years I finally learned how to tie a cleat hitch only had to watch it 10 times.

Outstanding information. I have made a bight around the horns, but made the "holding" hitch around the entire cleat. Now I know.

Sooooo, you need a 10 minute video to teach you how to tie off to a cleat?

Had an old guy teach me that tie off the first time I docked my pontoon in our boat slip at our lakehouse. My wife picked it up quicker than I did. She usually ties us off when we dock, so she gets more practice. Quick, clean, and stays put in my weather.
I never had need to learn when I dock my bass boat because there aren’t any cleats where I put in and take out.
Thanks for the video as a reminder.

Mine have always held, never had an issue. Proven processes are good to know. Sorry I am not of your calibre.

Luckily one of my old fishing partners was in the Navy and taught me this. I'm with Fatshaft, it takes 10 minutes to explain this?

Probably could have installed a set of Talons in the same amount of time.

Jeez, I was wondering the same thing. One of the most simple ties of all time.

LOL, boats. I do the figure 8 around the cleat AND tie a granny for safety. Then again I was a RM. We do well to tie our shoes.

I use the WTF knot with a granny knot. Untieing is tricky.

Everything that anyone needed to know was in the first minute ( or less) of the video. Watching beyond that was ?????
