    Excessive oil in Vst

1997 150 EFI 0G540449. Motor would not start and found more oil than gas in vst canister. Fuel pressure was only 15 psi. Drained vst and pumped fresh fuel into and pressure came up to 36 psi and motor will start and run. Let set 2 days and had same thing. How could this much oil be getting in vst.

The experts will be along, but sounds like a check valve problem. On the bottom of the vst is a brass check valve.

I thought about that but I had one go bad on last motor and it put fuel in oil line and tank on motor. I can pull line off of valve at canister and nothing runs out. Can oil get past the injection pump when not running.
