Is anyone running a 36v 50AH setup from Relion?
Wondering how longevity with 50AH is?
With the depth of discharge you can go on lithium’s I’m thinking this is comparable to 3 group 31 AMG’s.
Am I missing something here?

It depends on how you use them. Lithium batteries, while able to withstand deeper discharge than a flooded cell or AGM, should not be discharged past 25% for longevity. Therefore, you have 38 Amp Hours to work with, which means you can draw 1 amp for 38 hours, 2 amps for 19 hours, 3 amps for 12 hours...38 amps for 1 hour. A typical 36 volt trolling motor pulls about 18 amps at half speed, so you would get about 2 hours of continuous use at half speed with a typical 36 volt motor. For your exact situation, determine the speed you most run the motor at, find out the amps it draws at that speed, divide that number by 38, and that will tell you how long the battery will typically last under continuous use before needing a charge. If it's less than you plan on using your motor between charges, increase the amp hours of the battery until you get a satisfactory run time. Just take the amp hours of the battery, multiply by .75, then divide by the current draw of your motor. It's all in the math.
I have the 75 AH and can fish wind all day and still have power for a half day of average wind or tm use. The 50 AH might do but I plan to switch to an Ultrex soon and think they will draw a little more. Just a cushion. They actually suggested 80AH but my boat is not that heavy and most days I only fish half days. Always a battery ages, their capacities drop some. Was scared the 50AH might not be enough after a few years. Trading up would be very expensive!
Thanks, had already made my mind up and went with 80ah. More cushion and may go the Ulterra as well soon.

I have been using 50Ah Relions for a while now on my 112 Fortrex on both my Pantera (19’) and Cougar (20’). NO ISSUES during long windy tournaments for me or my son (he is doing college txs). They are small and light!

I'm on the fence about them myself. Just don't want to spend that kind of cash and run out of juice before I'm done for the day. Fish through some heavy current on a regular basis.
Going from 50AH to 80AH is costing 750.00 more for the three.
At the end of the day feel I need the 80AH, I would hate to drop 1850.00 on the 50AH and have regrets.
I priced the Odyssey group 31 for cranking @ 589.00 and 3 X2 group 27 @ 359.00 from Batteries Plus.
The Relion 100ah @ 1099.00 and the 80ah @ 875.00 ea. The weight savings is 145#’s which is unreal..

Went to Batteries Plus today..
The Group 31 X2 weighs 75# and the Group 27 weighs 67#.
Total weight of the X2 battery system is 276#
The 100ah Relion is 30# and the 80ah are 25#
Total weight of Relions is 105#
Bigger weight savings than posted earlier..
171 lbs is a lot of weight..
My Optima Blue Tops have lasted 3 years and are tired.
Will be picking up my Relions in the morning.

Well my boat is heavy in the back compared to others, I think the weight savings will good and handling will be fine. I added 12’ talons and a Atlas 12” when I bought new. I’m running full load by myself at 74.4 GPS and passenger 71-72 GPS. Boats hole shot is great now with no complaints there. Boat is loaded properly and balanced as good as can be. I do have a tad bit of porpoising at slower speeds. Can be corrected by lowering JP and tucking in, I’m thinking the weight loss will help. I can and will move weight around if needed. My wife fishes with me most of the time, ask why am I making the boat do that. Lol..

No not 2 36v? 3 12v 80ah on trolling.
Yes I heard some Sho’s don’t play well with lithium, but there are a lot of folks doing it with no issues. This was addressed with the dealer that if I experience the shut downs or other issues the cranker battery can be returned and full refund offered. Then will put a Odessey or X2 in its place and gain a few pounds..
