    Humminbird 899 losing power

    Hello All,
I have an 899 that I have to unplug and plug back in to get it to turn on. I've run new wiring to the battery, a new power cord, and even checked the unit internally for power. It's all getting 12+ volts. If I remove the power cord and plug back in it will work fine. Unit will turn off with the power switch. I can't seem to find any problems. I am searching for new ideas.
    Thanks

Adjust the two power cord pins very slightly and very gently in any direction.

I tried moving the pins slightly. The unit is actually getting good voltage passed the pins and into the circuit board. I just don't understand it powering off fine. It just won't turn on using the button.
    Thanks

I haven't had the problem, but have seen posts from people who have similar symptoms if their waypoints somehow got corrupted.

To see if that is the problem, you will want to back up your waypoints and get them into Humminbird PC and verify you have a good backup .... scan thru the waypoints to make sure you don't have any duplicates or waypoint names with special characters..... Then go to your unit and format the Nav directory ... then import your waypoints back into the unit.
