I have a 2004 285 ProXL and just upgraded to the 150 HO G2 from a 2004 150 Johnson. I have 14 hours on the motor. I am running a 6" Slidemaster jackplate and have the prop to pad at 3.25", Seastar hydraulic steering and the "TRAC" mid-section configuration on the motor. I am running a Tempest+ 25 that was B&B by Mark Croxton. This morning I got her opened up good at WOT. At full trim I was bumping 6000 RPM and was in the 58.5/59 MPH ballpark (GPS). My previous prop was a Raker 24 also worked by Mark and I ran that Johnson at 3 3/8" PTP. I could get 61-62 with great bow lift. So what I learned this morning is that I believe the 150HO G2 can turn a 26" pitch prop, most likely I'll be thinking about the new series Raker designed for the E-Tec higher gear ration lower unit. I still need to play with it but I know if I move it up I'll likely be over 6K RPM's.
