29 Tempest blowing out REALLY bas

    I have a 209te with a 300xs 12 inch bobs jack plate 36 volt trolling motor with 4 d31m batteries.
I typically run a 28 pro max or a 28 bravo and i see decent numbers.
I got a 29 tempest to see what it would do since I saw great numbers on my old 193/250 combo and I figured I would get similar numbers with a 209/300 combo.
I cant even get on plane it cavitates so bad.
My bravos have different vent holes. One has 4-1&1/8 holes, another has 4-1 inch holes and 4 pvs hole all open. No cavitation issues.
This tempest revs to 6200 and will not even try to plane out.
Has anyone had this problem with a tempear on a gambler?

I run a 27 Tempest Plus some on my 20 ft Intimidator and I have to plug one hole solid and two holes with the large hole plugs. I'm running a 225 EFI and I'm redlining it at 6000 rpms. Mines also a 2001 model and it has the trim tabs which help a lot coming out of the hole.

I agree. This is where I would start. Close all the holes and try it. You can use a drill and different size bits to drill hole in PVS plugs to fine tune.
