    Prop repair in north alabama?

Any of you guys know of a good prop repair place near huntsville/florence? I accidently turned my lower in to a rock-locater the other day and bent one of the blades on my stainless prop.

Jim's Prop Shop is on Huntsville Road in East Florence. He is great.

    Our mothers were first cousins.

Same here. Last time I was in last summer he said he would be at the shop a couple days a week and would have some inventory but wouldn’t be doing much with a torch or a hammer anymore. Great guy and excellent at his trade. I have seen his truck at the shop a couple Friday afternoons so he’s definitely still worth a call.

I talked to him a couple weeks ago. He has been on the verge of retiring for at least 5 years. He has slowed down some but, still in the shop most days. I will tell you one thing, he doesn't get in a hurry. Might want to call first to verify he will be in when you are planning to be there.

Forgot about JC. He did a low water pick up a few decades ago on an OMC for me. Did a great job.

Jim's shop is still open. I stopped by yesterday with the bent prop but ended up order a new 19p from him instead of getting the other one repaired.
