    25p Fury 4 @ 5600 rmp

I have a 20ft Triton TRX HP and a 2018 Pro XS 250 motor with a 6" manual jack plate. The PTP is set at 2.5" below. At WOT I'm maxing out at 5600 rpms (smart craft gauge) at 72 mph (GPS) and water psi is at 16.5 to 17. My local prop shop said I should lower the engine .25" or .5" more. I'm thinking this would lower my rpms, not increase it. Also, with this current set up, the whole boat is lifting high. The back end comes so far out of the water that the in hull transducer will lose ground at 68 mph. Any suggestions?

Ok. First off, you're getting really good bite even though not at WOT. 8.5% slip adding an inch of pitch. Even less at 25". So questions: analog tach or SmartCraft? GPS or Speedo? I would think that hull is similar to mine. I had a 250 Pro XS with Verado lower that could reach 75-78MPH just me tourney loaded with 26 Fury, 27 Tempest or 28 Bravo. Fury was around 2" below. Tempest was a little higher and Bravo around 1" below. The Verado lower was a bitch to drive at those higher settings. I would think you can run at least the same if not more. Numbers above also were with 36V TM, 4 batteries, etc. As far as the transducer, mine is in hull and I start losing bottom around 45-50MPH. I also have a 10" Atlas jackplate. I heard these hulls work better with 8 or 10 inch setback.

Rpms are from a smart craft gauge and merc monitor. Speed is GPS both on phone and humminbird unit.

Your motor will losen up a big once you get to about 40 hours and your rpms should come up some. How much I'm not sure. How did you end up with 6" jackplate when those boats come with 10's?

    I'll double check, but I'm almost positive it's a 6" (maybe not).

Also, RPMs did increase (around 10 hrs, which is what merc tech told me it would do).
