    Question Vent holes

I am currently over propped for my rig; I own a 94 175ZX Skeeter with a 2005 175Optimax and running a 26 pitch Tempest; maxing out around 5400-5500 rpms; all four vent holes are plugged at the moment; turning the 26" makes it a real dog outta the hole; especially when fully loaded with 2 guys and live-wells full. Will pulling some of the plugs help getting outta the hole;and what can I expect on the top end with the change. I had a prop guy just tell me the new 4 blade trophys would be the best bet for my rig but most guys seem to run 24 Tempest's; any suggestions much welcomed.

I'm in the same boat and have been told to pull plugs one at a time . You can play around with different sized opening plugs too dial it in. Does not affect top end.

The vents only affect hole shot.

Start pulling plugs and look for a 25" tempest plus

24 Tempest with one large plug at 3.75 for starters. After getting a good baseline for your prop guy he can then tweak it to perfection. Far better to start low on pitch and cup and go up than going down
