Need som pointers for bluegill at Gaston

Wife want us (family) to do some bluegill fishing and make fish tacos.

I am not sure how to locate them. All I have ever done is put a worm or cricket on stand at end of dock and drop it in.

Don't think that will get us there.

Alot of blue Gill or war mouth on the grass. I have caught many there on small crankbait and wacky worms. Also alot of blue Gill on riprap and shallow points. There is no bait better than night crawlers or crickets

They are on beds right now on Gaston in the back of just about every pocket. Go get you a couple tubes of crickets with ultra light tackle and have a ball.

Poppers or pan fish subsurface flies and fly rod, but looks like I'm late to this party.
