Yamaha ignition key code

Looking to get a spare key for my 1998 OX66 Yakama outboard.

Was under the impression there is a 3 didgit key code stamped on the ignition switch or on the key itself ( under the rubber cover)

Looks in both places and the only thing stamped on the switch is J7.

The key is not not an oem Yamaha key , must be a duplicate , so no number there .

Outside of a locksmith or getting a new ignition swith any other ideas to find the key code ?

The three digit key number (if a Yamaha key switch) should be found on the flat spot of the switch. Dust boot and/or the retaining nut might need to be removed to view it.

found mine a few weeks ago after removing lock not. repair shop swore it wasnt there so I did it myself. stamped though not colored on flat part of ignition

I did remove the lock nut and could not see a number there. the ignition only has one flat spot on it with no numbers at all.

Looking at the key once the rubber boot is removed, there are numbers on it PK665P.

Checking the internet it seems this is a Sierra ignition ?

company on the key is Selma Al , All Lock company .

Looks like the original owner changed out to a Sierra ignition switch .

Will have to order a couple of those keys to have as spares.
