    Is Vessel View Link 2-way communication

    Engine S/N: 2B181067
    Boat Make/Model, Engine Make/Model: 2016 Ranger 1850 LS Reata w/ Merc 150 Four Stroke
    Prop: Tempest Plus 19P
    WOT RPM 5600
    Idle/WOT H2O Pressure: 2.4/24
    Guage Package: SC-1000 System Tach and Speedo, as well as SC-100 Oil Pressure and Engine Temp System Link Gauges.

    Considering adding VVL to my setup, have HDS Carbon.

    Today use the NEMA0183 output of my CARBON to send speed and waypoint info to my SC-1000 Guages.
    Question is, if I add VVL and disconnect the NEMA0183, then hook up the NEMA2000 to the VVL Link, I know the engine data is sent to the Carbon...which is awesome.
    Is any of the Distance to Waypoint, Speed, etc data sent back to the SC-1000 gauges, or do I need to leave the NEMA0183 connected to get that?

    Net does data just go:
    SC --> VVL --> N2K --> HDS Carbon

    or does it go both ways:

    SC <--> VVL <--> N2K <--> HDS Carbon

    And What data is sent in each direction?

    Yes. Basic GPS Data (COG, LON/LAT, WAYPOINTS, SOG, to name a few) are all available to the Vessel View LINK via NMEA-2000.

    And then the link will send that data back to my SC-1000 via SmartCraft and my speedo will work?

    What SC-1000? That is a whole series of instruments. Are you referring to a Smartcraft Tachometer and Speedometer?

    When speed is available as a NMEA RX item on the Vessel View LINK, you “should” be able to see it globally on the Smartcraft Network.

    i have not, however, tried this specific configuration (if you do it, please report back with results).
