Vermilion Fishing

I am heading up to Vermilion June 2 for a week with the family. Does anyone have any reports? I mainly target bass, but would love to get my 10 year old daughter a couple walleye too.

Just fished a tourney up there last weekend water temps were still in the 50's. With the hot weather most fish will probably be in the middle of the spawn. Lots of good walleye fishing too, follow the crowds with jigs and minnows or troll shad raps and cranks in 10-15 fow, slip bobbers in the shallows at night.

Got back from a week on V. Had a great time. We missed the smallmouth spawn, but did catch several nice fish. Most of the fish were on either rocky points or still in the weed edges. We used tubes and swimbaits with great success. We had a few Muskie follow the swimbait to the boat which was pretty cool. Walleye were shallow for most of the week. We trolled cranks for most of our of the walleye.
