Had Van at BBT fabricate a new drop in bow plate and attached (bolted) the gimbal mount to the plate. Reinstalled the 3 switches and wired up the Helix Humminbird. Pulled the ethernet cable from the console to the bow. Basically got rid of the "plastic bow plate" that came from Ranger. Nice upgrade.

If you are talking about the ethernet switch (box) I zip tied mine to the center rod tubes.

I did, I have a 2002 518vx. I replaced my wood grain bow panel with a custom piece HDPE, wrapped the HDPE with Carbon fibre vinyl. I used aluminum angle and fabricated a custom bracket I screwed A piece of angle into the HPDE. Next I created a bracket for the ethernet with aluminum angle. The angles are bolted together. It worked out fantastic, Great fit, rock solid, easy access and has been there for about a year. I didn't have to run a single wire as a result.

Ended up installing my Procise Single Dek It mount to the back of the BBT mount.
worked great with the 100’ of Ethernet cables that is left over with 4 Ethernet
    units
