    115 hp etec

    Running across the lake at wot, 5900 rpms and then all of a sudden I pick up about 500 rpms. What is causing my motor to do this?

    Give us some more info. Jack plate / What kind of boat / weight of boat / Etc.

    186 vlo, 6" set back. Boat weight 1450. The lake had some white caps. As soon as I came out of a small cut, and hit the rougher water it did this.

    Did the speed increase to about the amount an additional 500 rpm would accomplish or was it just revs and no increase in speed? If it was the latter, you may have experienced ventilation of the prop.
