The sidescan shows fish to the side, not directly under the boat which is whats on the normal screen. The shadows on the sidefinder is fish, 40 feet to the left and also some 50 feet on the right. Screens look great

I think he's talking about the fish that show up on the drop off on sonar and down scan......not the ones that are way out to the sides...

Sorry screwed that up. You can see those fish in the circled areas. They are right on the bottom, that's why you only see 1 fish in the black part.Harder to see them when they aren't up in the water column. When fish are close or right under the boat they kinda cover their shadow. The fish you see earlier on the screen look bigger and higher in the water column makes them easier to see.
