    Rod & Reel Repair

We need to have some rod repairs and reel maintenance and repair. I've used Dave's in Vernon Hills - but he is running 8 weeks behind.
Anyone you recommend in the north Suburban Metro?

What kind of repairs? Are you DIY inclined? If so, mudhole.com or jannsnetcraft.com would be good places to start. One or both of them have instructions on their site.

Need some new bearings and general fix-ups on some 4600 series Abu Garcia reels. A few rods have broken guides, missing ceramics, a tip or two ...
Probably, I should just buy some new stuff ....

Thanks - it's good to know - I dropped them off for repairs already - but I'm always either stepping on one or a guide breaks ... so I'll keep your info.

I would ship them to Jerry Foran in FL at hookless.com. He's the wizard.

Here's the dilemma ... BPS Bionic Blades normally sell for $80. 7' MH. They just ran a sale at $50. If I ship a rod for repair, add the time & material + return shipping - all of which probably runs 2-4 weeks .... isn't it easier to pick up a new rod? ... just sayin' BPS is a 40 minute drive.

The original poster was asking where to get Abu Garcia 4600 round reels repaired. Abu was referring to Abu Garcia
