torch lighting method for lump charcoal issues

I have had a Looft (Not sure on the spelling...sorry) lighter for years to light my lump charcoal on my egg...it finally died...I have heard of a lot of guys using a propane torch...I am trying this out, but the darn torch goes out all the time...whats the solution? Thanks for your help...

Half of a paper towel, crumpled up soaked in a tablespoon of olive oil. Put it in the center of a mound of charcoal, light and done.

I use one of those torches people use for burning weeds / brush down. Yeah not recommended but I only have a BGE knock off.

    Works fast though

All I've ever used. Perfect burn every time. I also take a 12 inch piece of pipe and hold it in the middle when pouring the charcoal in. Provides a natural chimney in the middle and gets more airflow. 15 minutes and I've got perfect charcoal.
