Question in regards to my Transom Repair on my '83 Bass Tracker. I am doing a full on restoration on this boat. Transom needs to be repaired. I finally pulled the old transom out. My question is which is the most cheapest and durable way to go on a new Transom. I was thinking of 2 sheets of 7 layer plywood glued together to make the 1 1/4 Transom and than Poly Urethane coat it 3-4 times.
I have searched lumber yards in my are, FT Worth and Marine Plywood is not available. Ultimate goal will be a 15HP Mercury Tiller on the back by November.
Should I go with Plywood or Oak.

Just need some opinions on this.

Tight Lines,

Chris
