2006 DF140 alarm not working

I have a 2006 DF140 on a 1960 Blazer bay boat. When I bought the boat the buzzer worked. Well 2 weeks later I finally get to take it out and the buzzer is not working when you turn the key on. Is there a way to check buzzer can I just hook it to 12 volts to see if it works and what else can I check?

Hooking up the horn, by itself to 12 volts to confirm it actually will sound is a good test.
