I just bought a 2001 Suzuki DT140 14003-151391 without checking the shaft length. I won't have the motor until Thursday. I have driven myself crazy trying to find the shaft length. Can anyone help by looking at that serial number?

Not sure... But I bet you could send her back if it wasn't the 20.

Call a Suzuki dealer, and give him the VIN, and he'd be able to tell you for sure.
Oh, haha... Didn't see it right. Can't ship that back I suppose.
If you measure between top of cavitation plate and the top of the mounting bracket (where mounting hooks are). That should give a rough estimate of shaft length.

The dealer called me the day before I was going to pick it up and said "I did tell you this was a 25" shaft, right?" I told him that I needed a 20" so he refunded my deposit. Guess I won't be joining the Suzuki family after all.

Glad you and the dealer reached an acceptable agreement. Sorry you didn't get the shaft length you wanted, but they're out there somewhere hope you find the one you need.
