Took me about 3 weeks with weather constrictions because I do not have a garage , so only could work on it when the weather was good . Also had tourneys and family things to handle during that time but got it done and she's looking good if I do say so myself proud of my 28 yr old girl....

Let's say I know a guy looking to get someone to install new carpet on his Nitro, would you be interested? He's willing to pay for "some" materials and coffee and willing to hold coffee cup at all times.

Fished my 1st tourney with my new carpet and I have to say it is much more plush than the old stuff I took out, I can actually feel the cushion of it beneath my feet and that is without padding. My compartments are a little hard to open but will give in eventually ...

Absolutely beautiful! Looks like a professional did this! I love to see good work!

I recently bought a well-used 1991, 361-V and am in the process of re-working and reviving this wonderful 28 year old Ranger. This is my 2nd 361. In fact, I've never owned anything but Ranger.

I'm looking forward to doing my own re-carpet job and will also go to Ranger for their carpet. Lots of good carpet out there, I guess, but I know whatever Ranger uses is good stuff and should last longer and look great......like yours.

I'm wondering about adhesive. I hear 3M "77" is preferred by some. I don't feel any attraction to using the stuff in the big tubs, trowels, ect. Back in the '70's we would use contact cement. I did carpet jobs on 2 of the old TR-3 Honeycutt Rangers. I learned that from Hubert Green in Spindale, NC. Now I'm dating myself.....

Also, Al............what color is the Ranger carpet?

    Would that be "gunmetal gray".

I have charcoal in mine and it shows everything under the sun. Gonna go with whatever you used.

    Thanks!

Al, could you advise on what glue you used? I've heard 3M 77 is good.
The stuff in the tubs using trowels, ect. is used by many, it appears.
    Thanks!

I used outdoor rug glue in tub for all the flat parts like the main floor sections and top of compartments but used the spray container tcement 3M in the green can for all the edges of the compartments , the reason to use the one in the tub is because it gives you a little time to make adjustments before it sets up.

After the job I couldn't get my lids to open very easily after a week or so I tightened the screws again this help a little and the livewell were so tight I needed a pry bar to open them. I tried putting paint stirrers in for a while but the nap came right back up and were still tight. Everyone recommended shaving them but I was leary of that. So last nght I was taking them off to replace the pulls because I broke them that is how tight they were. I noticed that I had put the hinge on top of the carpet of the main deck,so I cut out where the hinge went and all is well open and close like a charm so thought I would post for others
