    03’ 521DVX setup

What is the correct / best setup for a 03’ 521DVX? I’m talking about how big of a jack plate & prop to pad.

Last night I ran 66 MPH @ 5500 - 5600 RPM. It was about 80 degrees outside and I'm set 2 1/8" prop to pad which seems a little high. Hole shot was OK, but not impressive. Each tank had about 1/2 fuel, just me (180 lbs) and light tackle load.

How does it get on plane? With a tow boat? Kidding I know you have done the research and testing. Thanks for your help a while back. I switched the the fury 4 25p as you suggested and mine is a rocket out of the hole now and with two guys, two half tanks yesterday 70mph

My 2004 521VX//250XS takes off just fine with the 27P bravo1XS. Also getting 72-73 loaded.

It definitely planes faster by myself and empty livewells. Takes a second or two longer with 2 guys and full livewell.

8 total vent holes. 4 completely open and 4 with large hole plugs. I hit 4K RPMs while getting on plane.

I have a 2003 521VX with a 2015 250 Pro XS and the original 6 inch manual jack plate. I run a 26p Bravo 1 XS with three full plugs set at 1 3/4” below the pad. Fully loaded with fuel, gear and 2 hefty guys (no power poles) she runs 70. mph. Best I’ve seen is 72.4 mph in cooler weather.
